“Protect Those Paws”

Hey Everydoggie,

Whew, it sure has been hot here in Kansas. We have had several days where the temperature has been above 100 degrees. I am very lucky my Mum and Dad refill water bowls several times a day and they limit the amount of time I spend outside in this heat. I want all my Fox Terrier friends to remind their humans of the dangers of this intense heat. The hot weather poses many dangers to us dogs. Everybody knows that dogs can suffer heat stroke and sunburn, but many overlook paw pad injuries and burns.

Paw pad injuries are hard to treat and slow to heal. Pad cuts, blisters and sores are prone to infection and healing is very slow due to the constant pressure placed on a dog’s injured paw. Please be careful on hot pavement.

That’s one hot ice cream truck!

Your Pal,

Rowdy
