2009 Fox Terriers on the Move Photo Contest Judge

Fox Terriers on the Move Judge
Vicky Stambaugh

I became involved (and in love) with Smooth Fox Terriers in 1991. I had become involved in obedience in the late 80's and was looking for a dog with "a little spunk". Needless to say, I found the right breed!
Alex (Caldicot Fancy Fox V Blumis) was the first love of my life He and I showed in obedience (he earned a CD), earth dog (he had 2 legs on his Senior title) and he earned his championship. He was a wonderful dog and my best friend. He died just a few weeks short of his 17th birthday.
Since Alex's arrival, I have had the pleasure of sharing my home with countless Smooth and Wire Fox Terriers.
Pam Bishop and I met each other at an animal shelter one afternoon in the early 90's. Both of us were there to pull out an elderly Wire Fox Terrier we had separately heard about. We've been best friends every since. We worked together for years running Southern CA Fox Terrier Rescue and sharing countless hours at rescue/adoption events, long road trips to rescue foxies out of a shelter and shared the joy of finding the perfect homes for these magnificent creatures. I no longer do rescue but still share my home with 3 Smooth Fox Terriers, Bernice (age 8 years), Flash (age 11 years) and Dickens (14 months). I continue to show in obedience, rally, agility and I'm going to try my hand at dancing with dogs. They continue to amaze me with their antics, sense of humor, intellegence and love of life.
I am truely honored to be one of the judges selected for the FTN Photo Contest this year and look forward to having the opportunity to get a glimpse into your Smooths and Wires world!
