2009 Smooth Photo Contest Judge  Lisa Paul Two Terrier Vineyards Www.leftcoastcowboys.com Three years ago, after years working as a professional writer in newspapers, television and advertising, I started the slow transition toward our “retirement” as biodynamic wine-makers and farmers in Sonoma. It is indeed a strange transition. I’m a city kid, my husband Andy is a Londoner and we’re trying to learn it all from books and our copious mistakes. Hilarity ensues. So far, we are only at the George Bush level of ranching which is defined as “having the cowboy hats, but no livestock other than terriers.” However, we are sharing our land with coyotes, bobcats, a Mountain Lion we’ve named Joaquin (so he’s practically a pet) and our two Smooth Fox Terriers: Lucy Davinia Doglington-Smyth and Sir Oscar Doglington-Smyth, Baronet. Two Terrier Vineyards has just produced its first homegrown vintages (Rhone-style varietals) as well as lavender and olive oil.
