Prevent Mistakes If the pup makes a mistake – Remember Mistake. This is not a Federal Offense. Interrupt the pup – clap your hands, call the pup’s name, etc. If the pup halts urination/defecation, whisk him outdoors and praise/treat for pottying outside. If you cannot interrupt the ‘flow”, just let him finish! Dragging a urinating/defecating puppy does nothing to teach the dog appropriate behavior and does a lot toward making the mess a lot messier to clean up! Remain neutral (grit your teeth!) and take the puppy outside or crate them when they are finished. Clean up with enzymatic cleaner (such as Nilodor, Synergy or another Enzymatic cleaner). Now forget it. Let it go. And Watch The Puppy next time so you don’t have to repeat this ridiculous and annoying behavior. Next Back to the Potty Training Menu | |||
